TAX GRIEIVANCE DAY WILL BE HERE BEFORE YOU KNOW IT

With spring in the air we all begin to emerge outdoors in hopes of catching that warm ray of sunshine and a little healthy yardwork. It also reminds me that it is once again that time of year when we need to prepare to defend ourselves against what the City of Kingston tells us our homes are worth and taxes us accordingly. TAX ASSESSMENT GRIEVANCE DAY IS MAY 1st.
Many homeowners, especially in our neighborhood were clobbered with extremely high assessments in the recent re-val from 2007. I realize there are plans in the works to have yet another re-val take place, but for the short term, we are being hammered! Kingston's assessments are based on 2006 sales figures and I can tell you right now, as a Realtor, Kingston's home values have dropped nearly 20%.
If you feel you are still over assessed then perhaps you should once again attempt to grieve your tax assessment. Want to know how? Follow this link for all you need to know.
Good luck!
